How do i make windows boot from the D:/ drive while i can have c:\ empty(well i want to use C: to store 500 hundred mp3s on, and it slows down. The c drive runs really slow because it is 7 years old. help appr. thanx , i also dont want to buy any partition software

What I do is restart my computer and go into the bios and redetect my hard drives. I detect the one that I want to boot from and ignore the detection of the drive I do not want to boot from. Hope this helps.

Blow off your WD. (Boot with your Win98 boot disk) Create 2 partions on it, format & scan both partitions. Install Win 95/98/ME on the WD making sure that it is the primary master,& that you set the WD as the active drive while using Fdisk. set the old drive as slave and format it. Do the old hard disk after you set the WD up. If any data on the old HD is usefull copy that data to the new HD after the fact..........

Wouldn't you have to swap the jumpers on the backs of your hard drives setting one to primary master and the other to primary slave, go into bios auto detect hard drive's, probably have to re-format the both and install your OS onto the drive you intend to boot off (C:\).......????
