You are probably not adding the new font using the correct procedure. Select the fonts icon in Control Panel, pull down the file menu and select Install New Font command. Insert the disk containing the new font and then select the appropriate drive from the list of drives.

What if yo've gone through control panel, and into fonts, pulled down the the file menu... and theres no "add new font"?

yes i have this same bug it's impossible to add new fonts on win me on thelp it says to go to install new font but there is no place.

go to http://search.microsoft.com/us/ and type in teh search box Font installation. You will see a section on this very problem and the fix for it.
