I want to make more space and just check what my kids have downloaded. How do I accsess this hard drive on my computer?

To access your hardrive you turn on the computer and use windows explorer to view the C drive. Double clicking the My Computer icon on the desktop will launch windows explorer. Navigate to the C: drive. Now you will see folders with all kinds of things in them. Some of these folders contain other folders. Inside each folder there are lots of different things. To see what your children have installed and possibly remove it you will want to go to add and remove programs. This is done by clicking start/settings/control panel/add and remove programs. You should see a list of anything installed.
I will assume for now you are a new computer user. My question is why would you want to make more space? Im just trying to understand what it is you wish to do so that someone may offer tailored advice on how to accomplish your goal. Be careful when navigating thru your files and folders. deleting the wrong thing can cause major problems.

to free up some extra space go to start\programs\accessories\system tools\disk cleanup. Choose the drive you want to clean up.hit ok. under files to delete check all then click ok.Then check out the more options tab. the choices there are self explanitory and you can also find what the kids installed. Hope this helps as Im only guessing this is what you want.

Well as a parent myself, I am guessing that you don't completely trust your children as good parents don't. So here is what you do. I feel for you so i am going to make this easy. go here http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0-10105-100-6934857.html?tag=st.dl.10000-103-1.lst-7-2.6934857 download this utility and it will keep track of everything that goes on, on your computer and keeps it in a log so that you can view it later. As for the memory that has been answered. good luck!

Its a good way off keeping up computers performence...Usually Win OS has a complicated virtual memory so that your OS can run faster...If there is no space for these fiture, than your computer will start to get slow...defrag your computer HD can take a very long time if each partition in your HD free space is below 20 %...
How to free more space...
1. You can disable the restore fiture in WinME...
2. In Win OS, they hav a complecated data management where data can be restored even if u hav delete the file which you can restore it using data recovery util software...Norton WipeInfo and bestCrypt are 2 software that I usually use...It could take quite some time tho...
3. Delete file in c:\windows\temp
4. Always install the software that u aways use and see the custem installation when installing something...
