Under Personal Information click on the Autocomplete button.
Make sure there is a checkmark by: User names and passwords on forms.
You may also want to check the Prompt me to save password box just to have the benifit of saving some passwords and not others.
If the above boxes are already checkmarked, and IE is not saving your passwords... Uncheck both boxes. Click the Clear Passwords button. Recheck the boxes and try again.

When booting up the process stops at the password window. I do not use a password and just click OK and it continues. Can I prevent the boot up process from stopping at this point, waiting for me to click??

Go to start>>settings>>control panel>>netwroking.
Make sure Client for Microsoft Networks is installed. It will be in the network stack in the top box. If it is not, click add>>client and add it. If you have to add it, you will be asked to reboot. Reboot.
Now in the middle drop down menu on Networking properties choose Windows Logon. Click ok.
It will ask you to reboot. Reboot.
This time, you will get a Windows logon box. Make sure your name or logon name is in the box and nothing is in the password feild.
Click ok.
It should not ask you again for a password. Reboot to test.
