How can I get into DOS mode?

Is there a way to get into DOS mode before windows starts up?
If this is related to your earlier post, you might want to try for Safe Mode first, and see if performing
scanreg /restore
from the 'run' box helps at all - you also have the 'System Restore' option from a Safe Mode start
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Do not overlook you can get to the DOS prompt in a window whilst still running Me.Start-Programmes-Accessories.I reckon that facility is a good reason for resisting Xp (Windows version 5) which abandons DOS

You can get to a prompt in either by running COMMAND.
In ME it's DOS.
In NT it ain't.
