my friend is having trouble with her hotmail account. when she logs in, she's barrage or runtime errors asking for debugs. examples of the errors are "}" expected, or Object expected, or MenuObj expected. (i noticed that MenuObj one only shows up when i move the mouse over the hotmail menu buttons).
the thing is, when i log into my own hotmail account, it works fine. And when she logs into her account on a different computer, then thats fine too. So the problem arises only when she logs into her own account on her own computer.
don't tell me to disable script debugging in advanced internet options cos í've tried it and all it does is just stop the error message from popping up. the ie browser still says that there are errors on the page (in the status bar at the bottom) and because of this none of the links on the page works. can't open the emails or use the menu buttons or whatever.
i've tried repairing internet explorer. tried updating it to the latest version. tried emptying the temp file cache. tried deleting the cookies. i disabled mdm7.exe from the startup programs in msconfig (tho i don't know what that's supposed to accomplish.. it was just suggested to me)
oh yea, she's running Windows ME with ie6
please help me with this. thanks

Do you have Zonealarm or another firewall blocking pop-up's, banner adverts and other annoyances? You may have to turn the setting down a bit.

No i don't have any popup stoppers except for spybot's "silent blocking" thing. I have noticed that turning the security level down in the the internet options seems to fix this. also, mozilla has no problems with this.. tho i'd really like to get IE working properly since thats the browser that messenger is tied to. is there any real dangers in keeping the internet security settings at "low"?

Any consolation I am trying to resolve the same problem which has recently occurred on my friends PC. Windows XP SP2. Initially on the same PC it only affected one windows login but once I tried to reinstall IE6 it now affects all windows logins and all hotmail accounts. Emailed hotmail with details in hope they may identify solution.
Theo
