What do you mean she can't open the e-mail? Can she login to Hotmail? What messenger are you talking about?

You need to supply more details...

Tell her to open a new account with msn with a new username and new password and see if that one work. She might have messed up the first installment.

If she's able to sign in to msn messeger, I think her account is working fine too. Sometimes, one's account is temporarily unavailable ....

Hi all.
I have had this problem with Hotmail for nearly a year. If I try to log into hotmail directly, my password is not recognised. But if I click on the MSN messenger icon in the Sys Tray all works perfectly. I have sent a lot of emails to Hotmail support but all I get are those stupid automated responses and basically tell me to do what I have already done before.

I am sorry to say that I have learned to live with it, but I wish I didn't have to.

To change my Hotmail address would be a hugh job that I would rather not do as I cannot remember all the people who may still need to use it. :(

Regards

Janset,

When you log in at hotmail.com is your password generated by autocomplete or are you manually entering it when you get the invalid password error?

The reason i ask is because i recently changed all my passwords and i had some problems with automcomplete. I cleared it from tools/internet options/content/autocomplete and it seems to be working ok now.

Another thing is.. I have an MSN dialup account with a username@msn.com email address. I also have the same username@hotmail.com. Autocomplete never gets this one right when i log in at hotmail.com. Each time it remembers the others password and i have to manually enter it again and if i save it i then have to manually enter the other accounts password.

Hi SMUOD

I have tried both, auto complete as well as manual type in. I have also cleared my auto complete from tools/internet options etc. as you suggested and tried again.

Still no joy. The irony is that when I use the messenger icon from the sys tray I very seldom do I have to sign in as I automatically sign in as I have it load at startup.

If it does for some reason ask me to sign in, my password is accepted.

As I have said,I have learned to live with it :(
