Everything works fine, have installed Ad-Aware and have a current AV installed. But, when I go to sign on to my Hotmail account the screen just sits there it does not freeze it just hangs. Other web mail services act the same way like Yahoo mail. Do I have some sort of virus or is there anything in the registry that has become corrupt to cause this sort of error?

first of all the software ad-ware does not work...i have had it before...until i got another software and knew it was all a fake. so it would be best to delete it...and try to get a firewall. and about hotmail...what do u mean by hang

it would help us to know if you added or removed any software before problem started.
Did you run ad-aware or any other registry cleaner program right befor problem showed up?
are you useing IE or a third party web brouser?
Agree on the need for a firewall.

perdedori, what do you think Ad-Aware does exactly? What functionality do you believe you replaced with a firewall?

get free virus scan from McAfee.com and scan and delete all the viruses it stopped my system doing that type of thing

I have the same problem. I get a blank page with Hotmail. This is a fresh install of Xp Pro. Fist with SP1 and then SP2. Neither would work. All was fine before fresh install from Fdisked hhd. This is not a virus, malware, nor webhijack. If you find a solution please post.
By the way I tried MSN Explorer and Firefox and still no Hotmail. MSN Messanger works fine for messaging but no mail.Hotmail's support is useless as you need hotmail to get any!
Thank
Nor
Here we go again!

I had the same problem and this worked for me!
In Internet Explorer click Tools then Internet Options
Click the Advanced Tab and scroll to the area labelled HTTP 1.1 settings
Untick Use HTTP 1.1
Tick Use HTTP 1.1 through proxy connections
Click OK
Close and browser windows you have open and try again.
