My computer suddenly started doing this a couple days ago. When you open Internet explorer, the home page doesn't completley load and tries to reload over and over in rapid succession. Any other pages are fine, just the page marked as home. I know this isn't realy an ME problem but it seemed to be the only place I could post this. I ran all the adawares, avg, spybots etc.with no help. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Have you tried resetting the homepage in IE?

Can you open the page normally, or with another browser?

I'm not one of those who think Bill Gates is the devil. I simply suspect that if Microsoft ever met up with the devil, it wouldn't need an interpreter.

I downloaded the Firefox browser and it was able to open the homepage no problem. However it didn't solve the issue in IE. I later found out after I posted the origonal message, a couple other pages that wouldn't open. I reset all the cookies, cleared the caches, etc. all to no avail. finally i did a system restore back to a month ago and wahla, it solved all the issues. Thank God for System restore. People, make sure you set system restore points regularly. it saved me, again.

VoilĂ  indeed - a bit peculiar, and perhaps a repair of IE might've been sufficient (if possible) - but it's good to hear you were able to work things out by restoring

Despite claims to the contrary, posts are not routinely removed from Computing.Net
