Help with super slow start up

In the past week or so, my start up has gone from fast to excrutiatingly slow. I have gone through msconfig's startup. There's nothing out of the ordinary. I have not installed much. I installed winkeys, but I removed it, so that shouldn't affect it. I have scanned for viruses - nothing. I'm out of ideas. Has anyone sen this? The only thin weird is that my anti virus (NAV) started malfunctioning once my license was expired (about a week and a half ago). After osme errors, I purchased and installed NAV 2003. But that seems to work fine. I'm clueless as to what to do.

Make sure your AV definitions are current. Get either Spybot or ADaware, update the defs, and scan your computer; you may have some spyware that is causing your problem. Regards, John

I had this problem until I installed Ad-aware. You can find this by 'searching' for it on Yahoo. Once I installed, I then selected it to scan everything. It found 18 components! I put them all on ignore. Since then my PC is about four minutes quicker to boot up# Ad-aware is free.
