I have used Nero since I got my system as it came installed.
This morning I bought my first CDRW Discs as I was fed up with throwing away CD's.
I understand that to use the discs like floppies, I have to format them with InCd and that once formatted, they hold 511MB.
I have also read that they do not need to be formatted if they are going to be used in Nero, but here I need more information please.
1. If I use them in Nero, will they be burnt like CDR, can they be rewritten?
2. If so, how do I delete and rewrite? Because as I understand it this floppy like feature, write, delete, drag drop etc, only works under InCd, and once formatted with InCd the discs cannot be used with Nero.
3. Once formatted with Incd, can the discs be Unformatted so they can be used with Nero?
Thanks Les.

If you don't format them, they can be used just like a cdr, but some music cd players won't be able to read them. You will be able to erase them with Nero for reuse. If you use the erase cd option in Nero on a formatted cd, it erases the format too and returns it to the way it was when you bought it. Then you have to reformat it if you want to use them it like a floppy again. My personal opinion is that you should stick to regular, multi-session recording and stay away from the direct cd feature unless you are workng with important documents that need to be backed up frequently during the day.

Thanks Ger, I went to a few sites all were offering different opinions, and I got a little confused.
I assume from your post you know Nero well. I tried out InCd prior to returning here, it formatted quickly, files copied quickly and deleted cleanly, but then it started reporting the wrong amount of space on the disk.
After I added and removed a few folders I terminated because I read earlier that InCd sometimes reports wrongly.
I left around 300MB on the disc, but it reported 64KB. I physically filled the disc and it reported 296MB free space. But obviously would not accept anymore files because it was full.
When I went to the root in explorer and highlighted all the folders and selected properties it displayed the full proper amount.
But when I clicked back at the disc and selected properties, it continued to report 296MB free space.
Any thoughts?
Thanks Les

I've never used InCd and stick to the regular Nero program. I like being able to use all the space on a cd, so I prefer not to format them. The erase cd tool for Nero is in "Recorder" on the tool bar. You can try the Nero download page and check their free updates to make sure you are using the latest versions and see if that helps.
