I just want an addition 40G to my current Drive C of 6G. I hope someone can Help me in changing it back just to Drive D of 40G. HELP !! ASAP!!

Run fdisk and choose LARGE DISK SUPPORT.
Since you now have so many partitions to get rid of I recomend that you download WIPE.exe from www.ibm.com (works on any drive) and clear the HD off first.

What a surprise, I have the same hard drive as you. To solve your problem, simply boot your 'Max Blast Plus' disk that came with the hard drive. Make sure you select one partition.. but I also found it depends on what startup disk you give it. I gave it the WinMe startup disk and it came up with 20 or more partitions. Than I gave it the Win98 startup disk and that solved my problem by making the Hard Drive into one partition. So use the Win98 startup disk once prompted. Beware, you will loose all your information on the whole hard drive.

Hey Blah..anybody,

Are You Upgrading to a Larger and HD and still keep your old HD as the Master or you started brand new?

Because, All I wanted is just to added more HD into what I already have Drive C (Primary Master) upgraded to WinMe from Win98 1st Edition, thus this new Drive is like to be Drive D (Primary Slave). No Sense for me to upgrades to 40G if it's partition into 20 drives. Will it mess up any files for my Drive C ? I don't have a boot disk for WinMe..but I do for Win98SE without Windows, will this work? Can you explain again little bit more in details?

Those folks at Maxtor never available for help.

Thank you,

I SOLVED THE DAMN THING!!!!

Thanks everybody..for your Input. Crack Pipe..Thanks! I use the Windows startup disk..and use the FDISK format to delete/create partition a new drive.

BEWARE:
I don't recommends you to use Maxtor startup. Just use the Startup disk for windows for FDISK. Forget about Partition that crap..There's no use in divided evenly a 40G HD into 2-3MB. I haven't tried Partition magic, I heard is good..don't waste another $60!
