Yeesh! Had my IE6 "taken over" by an internet searching program - could NOT delete/uninstall it! In order to get rid of it, I had to completely uninstall IE6 and reinstall it (found some directions in a message board and it worked like a dream). I now have IE6 back, without the unwanted software and with all my toolbars back where they belong).
HOWEVER, I now cannot "see" pictures on either IE6 or Windows ME. I get the "Install on Demand" prompt...then an error message saying that "this software is not available for this verison of windows". It does NOT specify WHICH software it is trying to install on demand - I went in and updated my Java and my Active-X....no good, I still get the boxes with the little red X's instead of gifs, jpegs and bmps. The bonus is, the animations work beautifully .
Can anyone tell me WHAT I've done to screw this up? Is there another software I need to reinstall? A setting somewhere I've missed?
Any help will be appreciated - if you can send via email, that would be great, as I don't get by here very often (but may come back more frequently since reading all the GREAT stuff here!)
THANKS!
Michelle
