I need help to get my notepad.exe to operate. When I try to open anything it comes up with a dialect box that says Program Not Found - Windows cannot find WORDPAD.exe I can launch notepad, but not open any files I had the bugbear virus and notepad has not worked since.

you might try posting in virus and scurity forum. might try repairing windows by reinstalling it on top of its self. goto my computer right click,choose explore,c:\windows\options\cabs\setup.exe if you dubble click setup.exe it will start the process of reinstalling windows this will only afect windows system files. you should allso ctrl,alt,delete and shut every ting off but explorer and system tray. and have windoz serial number handy. you can allso try a note pad alternatetive like eddit pad do the google.

Copy over both NOTEPAD.exe and WORDPAD.exe from a known good machine or extract from the Windows install CD, to the correct location on your Windows directory, and you should be fine (assuming the virus is now gone). Mark
