I was peacefully arranging folders in my documents when an error message poped up saying explorer has caused an error in unknown.
A moment after that my desktop moved to the left leaving a black strip on the right.
I would appreciate any help on that matter.

Thanks

Did you try rebooting your PC? You would be amazed at how many little problems get corrected by rebooting.

Never seen the desktop just move over before. I have seen the windows explorer error after running the system hard followed by some graphic bugginess, Start button stays black desktop takes a while to show up windows are completely grey with nothing in them etc. Restarting the system always clears this up for me. After restarting I always empty cookies temp files temporary internet files/run disk clean up/regcleaner/scandisk/defrag/virus scan/ then i muck around in device manager and usually get fascinated with something shiney and forget what i was doing in the first place :)

when all else fails ,use system restore
start-programs-accessories-system tools-system restore-restore to an earlier date, or what ever ,click next
then choose a time when it was running correctly and let it do its thing, can take awhile , I will let it go and watch tv for an hour and then comeback to see how it did.

I've only seen it occur when the Refresh Rate of the Video Adapter is changed on a fixed frequency monitor - but, that's about it.

Blond and not Silly? (hmmm)

Thank you all.
Joe, system restor is a good idea.
Ellis, you're right. It is a problem with the refresh rate.

Thanks again.
