okay so this all started about 3 days ago, my computer is having trouble starting, loading, and its freezing up. i have to press the button to turn it on and off a few times to get it running, and when it finnaly starts it some times freezes. or i get a black screen.

the steps i have taking.
started in safe mode, scaned disk (no errors), disk defrag(took 3 hours), scaned for a virus(found one but it was a downling one), and did anti spy scan found only tracking cookies...

well sine i loaded it in safe mode, it wouldnt stop going back to safe mode. so i had to go to msconfig and click on load all drives, and finnaly it went to normal. but now my color is all jacked up, it looks like its in safe mode. and its still having problems loading... anyone have any clue? i keep getting black screen. over heating? crash? anything? anyreplys would be ReALLY HELPFUL, thank you!

oh and i have NOT installed anything new in the past month, i checked out my msconfig to see what was loading, its all be the same. i cant seem to figure whats going on

If you don't have time to reinstall then you don't have time to do a complete cleaning of the inside of your computer. Most of the heat problems are caused from neglect. How much dust and lint is inside that Compaq?Look inside you may be amazed. Then again, school sure won't hurt anything.
