I am running Windows Me and have IE6 and Outlook Express installed.

The problem happens if I launch Outlook Express before I am on the Net.

As far as I am aware, it is not essential to have connected to the Net through IE6 before launching Outlook Express. But in my case I have to.

If I try launching Outlook to send a quick Email it loads and freezes.

Ctrl alt del, several times finally gets a box telling me the program is not responding to the system, when I close I get blue screens which sometimes lead to a reboot.

The funny thing is when I am on the Net it works perfectly.

Any Ideas?

Thanks Les.

A guess, but maybe there is an option in tools to make a connection when not already online.

I have a similar problem with Outlook Express. It freezes when I'm checking out a website which was linked from an email. I, too, have to re-boot because ^/alt/del tells me that Outlook Express is "not responding"! Very irksome! Eudora is looking reaaaaallllllly good right now!

I had problems with IE6 and outlook express 6 too in the end went back to IE5.5 SP2. Big problem uninstalling I.E.6, eventually I had to reinstall windows because it would not boot(Explorer caused an error in Shell32.dll blah blah blah.)Anyway what you could try is removing outlook express 6 in the Add/Remove box in control panel if listed. I think this will then automatically install OE 5. Be very carefull with this so called upgrade if I.E. whatever version is working well I would leave 6(66)! well alone untill the big M Corp gets the public to do it's testing and debugging for them and brings out its no doubt many service packs.
