I had posted earlier but didn't get much of a response but from looking over some of the problems mentioned on this web site we have come up with a plan we are going to reformat an older hard drive put on windows Me and try ideas we have had. most of what we got off here says to remove all vidio driver including all Me drivers we wish to know which drivers are Me's vidio drivers if some one has a list of them and where they are in the system or if some site mite have them we would be much obliged

phoenarch:
If you format that will delete eveerything (including drivers) Windows me has so many drivers for most everything. When you load me on system the drivers will load if they are not there you will have to get them from another source. Sorry could not help more!

I think I know what you are doing here and you can achieve this and more with a program called 98lite. It works with ME and has a retail and free download that will trim ME down.
Better you read about it here http://www.litepc.com/98lite.html

Let me explane what we are trying to do we want to up grade our vidio card but we think Me's vidio drivers are getting in the way

To update the video driver, right click on My Computer, go to properties, device manager, expand the + beside display adapters (which means graphics cards), click on the driver listed, go to properties (bottom left), find the driver tab, click update driver, select specify the location of the driver, click on display a list of drivers in a specific location, click next, click have disk, and point Windows to the new drivers for your card and let it update. Reboot and see how it is. If you are still in trouble, download the latest driver from your card manufacturer and repeat the update. Also download the latest VIA 4 in 1 chipset drivers from here
http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=2 or, if you have an Intel chipset, download an updated ATA storage driver from http://support.intel.com/support/chipsets/driver.htmTo find out which you have, go back to device manager and expand the + beside "system devices", scroll down and if there is a whole load of VIA stuff at the bottom then that's what you have.
There is also a very good article on changing video cards here
