I recently formatted my C drive because it wouldnt start up. after i formatted i installed windows ME that came with my comp. when the computer started up i checked the C drive and it shows i only have a 5.59GB hard drive . thats the capacity it shows eve nthough my hard drive is 40 GB. whats going on and how do i get my 40gb's back?

hello reboot with m.e bootdisk in floppy drive.at the a:fdisk and see what fdisk lists for volume info. some older mobos had bios,s that could not see the larger hard drives. if your hard drive needed a specal program on the drive to make it see the whole hard drive.than when you formated you lost it. d/l www.belarc.com and fined out what make of hard drive you have go to there sight and get program for large disk suport.
