I'm having a problem formatting my H/D. When I get to the FDISK Option screan I get a messege flashing at the bottom of the screan "Unable to access Drive 1". When I tried to install Win2k before that I got a message: Disk I/O Error: Status = 00001000.I tried to use this drive as a secondary drive my Win xp OS but it did not even recognize it. Please Help!!

hello with only one hard drive in your computer(dont know if you have more) put in boot disk and at the a type format c: if your dive is functioning it will format partion c: all info will be lost besure you want this. have a nice day

allso you need to make sure that your drives have the jumpers set to slave and mater and that you have them on the right place on the ide cables.when i partion and format a new hard drive i allways remove any others this makes it a lot easyer and you dont screw up any info on the others if there not in the computer. hope this helps you

You can also check with the drive manufacturer to get disk tools to format and partition. I had a problem once using fdisk and the tools from seagate did the job.
I had install usb adecter for my lomega exter drevi, but can not use because erro said the adecter is not install.Also I use the wizard to locate the adecter,and I still can not make my lomega through my usb adecter.
