Hi, I'm running Windows Me. I partitioned my hard drive with Partition Magic 7.0. I now have a primary partition (drive c:), and an extended logical partition (drive d:). Of course, floppy drive a:, and cd rom drive m:. Here's the problem, I can't see drive d: in my computer, or in Windows Explorer. It IS there, and there is data on it. I have a shortcut to it on the desktop.
So how do I make it appear with the other drives ? With the exception of drive d: being added, all other drive letters are the same as they were before. Thanks.

I've always done it the old fashioned way using FDISK, but that's neither here nor there. What I suggest you do bearing in mind that Partition Magic costs a cool $139.00 these days, is to contact their product support dept. Here's the URL to the online submission form

Have you run the drive mapping app that is part of PM7. When partitioned what did you format D with ie, Fat, Fat16, Fat32 etc?

I have a message out to powerquest, and partion magic didn't cost $139. when I got it. With Partition Magic, you can partition your hard drive without losing any data, or formatting the entire drive. I've used it many times on different OS's and not had this particular problem.

I did run Drive Mapper. I formatted the drive with FAT 32, same as drive c:
Everything else is fine. I can save data to drive d:. I can view data that is on drive d:. It just isn't listed in Explorer or My Computer with all the other drives. It does show in Device Manager under Disk Drive properties.
I just wondered if there was something in Windows Me that I was overlooking.
