I have just installed a new hard drive. It is a 40 GB. My old hard drive was a 20GB. The computer still says that it is 20GB.

Did you format the entire hard drive? Goto a command prompt and type fdisk /status. Post back what it says.

Your BIOS may not support 40 GB drives. Either update (reflash) your BIOS with the latest from the motherboard manufacturer or go to the hard drive manufacturer and get the overlay that allows your computer to use a 40 GB drive. For instance, with Western Digital, the overlay is called Data Lifeguard.

Does fdisk show 100% usage? Do you have 2 hard drives in your system now? If so fdisk should show 100% disk usage for both drives.
