I have a Gateway G6-333c and need to add a slave hard drive. I am not sure what my max size nor what type to get (SATA or ATA) Please advise and help... I also dont remeber how to install it once i get it.

ATA. The bios on that thing is unlikely to recognize the newer, higher capcacity drives, certainly not anything larger than about 120 gig. I'm sure it'll see an 8 gig OK and maybe up to a 120.

If you get a drive the bios can't recognize you have 2 options--use a drive overlay (software that will allow the full usage of the drive) or buy an add-on ATA card and connect the drive to it.

the hard drive mounts upside down under the top-plate that is above the upper 6" drive bay. if you want to add another, i guess the simplest solution is to place it in the floppy bay.(when was the last time you used a floppy?)
