When pc is not being used for so long i get hd activity, dont know what it's doing. is there any way to disable it.

have a look at the task planer, maybe there is a task planed called sth like PCHealth_*. this task is timed to start when pc is on idle for some minutes. you have to manipulate the time settings of this task. maybe it helps
