After installing ME, I found the LOW DISK SPACE warning kept appearing. My drive dropped from 500MB to 1 MB free. Did the "reclaim disk space thing" - in fact, just removed a very small prog with the uninstalled - and all the space came back. Kept happening every session. Found my win swap file was taking up all the space. Went to manual settings to stop it consuming everything. Any ideas what's happening?

sounds like your system doesn't have enougth memory so ME is resizeing the swap file so that you can run your apps, games etc.
Solution:Get a bigger hard drive and more memory.

If all the bigger your hardrive is..is 500MB..that's the problem. ME on a TYPICAL install takes 574MB. If you do a custom install (depending on what choices you make) ME can take up 674MB!!!! You're VERY lucky you're whole system hasn't crashed...you need a much bigger hardrive, and AT least a 150Mhz processor, AND at LEAST 32 MB RAM (my opinion 64-96 is a much better minimum)
Sorry for the "bad" news. You'd be better off to reinstall 98 until you can get a bigger harddrive at the very least
BLESSINGS

Another thing to check is that ME uses a lot of disk space for the system restore facility. You can reduce this in system properties, performance tab, click on file system properties, hard disk tab. There you will find a system restore slider. Move this to the minimum setting and 200 megs returned to you.
