I did the same thing on my home ME PC by a slightly different route. This is from memory as I'm on an XP PC right now. I assume you have an existing Nvidia ME display drivers entry in add/remove components in control panel? Go to Start > settings > control panel > add/remove components to check this first. If entry is there then come out of control panel and right mouse click on a blank area of your desktop and select properties. Click setting tab then advanced button. Click on adapter tab and change from your Nvidia card to Standard SVGA adapter. Click all OK boxes until you are back on your desktop. Re-boot PC and the resolution will probably be 640 x 480 and only 16 colours and look horrible but at least you will be able to see the screen. Go to Start > settings > control panel > add/remove components and click on the existing Nvidia display drivers entry and click remove. Come out of control panel. Then locate the new downloaded Nvidia driver package and double click the file to start the installation of the new drivers. You may get a message about the driver being unsigned by Microsoft - if so you will have to change the options it gives you so that unsigned drivers can be installed. After another re-boot the new drivers will be installed and you can set your colour depth and resolution if you wish.

Make sure you keep a copy of the old drivers or set a system restore point before you do this because sometimes the newest drivers don't work properly with ME installations.
