I don't understand but, my graphics are on 16 colors. I try to change it to 256 or high color 16 bit. once I get prompt to restart it for the changes and its been done restarting, its still in 16 colors! I tried almost everything. system restore, that windows me boot disk. I would format my computer but I don't want to lose any of my work. and also, my mouse cursor won't show. I had to click run and type msconfig and disable some drivers just to get my cursor to show but I don't like it like that. someone please tell me what I should do to solve this graphic displaying problem. I'm sorry if some people cannot understand what I am trying to say but are willing to help, but if can't understand please ask questions to clearify things u can't understand about the problem I am having. Thank you all for your time. all help is appreciated.

Assuming your graphics card will display 256 colours or better previously, you will probably need to reinstall the drivers, as this should then clarify to the system what the card's capabilities are. Please reinstall the drivers and let us know how you get on.

right click on My Computer, go to properties, device manager, expand the + beside display adapters (which means graphics cards), click on the driver listed, go to properties (bottom left), find the driver tab, click update driver, select specify the location of the driver, click on display a list of drivers in a specific location, click next, click have disk, and point Windows to the new drivers for your card and let it update. Reboot and see how it is. If you are still in trouble, download the latest driver from your card manufacturer and repeat the update.
