Graphics are slower

I am trialling Win ME on my system: Celeron 333 160 meg Ram Abit BX6-2 Mobo Matrox G400 video card
Since installing it, I have had a problem with Graphics itensive programs. It stutters quite consistently. Under Win 98 Ihad no problems with this at all. Can anyone help? Thanks

Most likely a video driver problem, you may have to wait for a driver update to fix the problem. The final version of ME might have a suitable driver. I use Voodoo 3000 cards and noticed no degredation of video in ME. I think Im using Windows 98 drivers too.

Hi. I am also have graphics problem with my computer. The computer that I have is an HP Pavilion:
700 mhz Pentium III 16 mb nVidian TNT PRO
The directdraw capability is slightly slower than under Windows 98 SE. Screensavers don't travel as smoothly under Windows Me as Windows 98 SE. I don't know why. Windows Me says that the directx drivers' version is Directx 7.1. Shouldn't this version be better than Directx 7.0a? I even tried to remove the sound manager from the device manager. Windows Me than updated my machine by installing its own drivers. Can you guys help me?

I was having similar problems with a new HP system as well. Mine turned out to be the driver on my SB Live audio card. Somehow it was hogging some serious memory. Once I figured out it was the SB Live card I updated the driver and no more video problems
