getting rid of virus infected file

I ran my AVG antivirus scanner again today and it keeps picking up the same file i downloaded from the internet a file ago,it detects the file extension then says it has 'healed?'it,what exactly does this mean?and is there any way of permanently scrubbing this file?thanks,Lee.

It has isolated and separated the virus packet from a the neeeded file. Have you identified the the file you downloaded to delete it? Is the file located in a temp/restore file, so that AVG canot delete it? Delete the temp internet files. If it is in "system restore", you need to disable "system restore", shutdown>restart run AVG's scan and if the system is virus free reenable "system restore" to permanently eliminate the virus and prevent it from reinfecting your computer.
