Reply: (edit)You will fare better dumping AOL and getting a real ISP. If your running 6.0 try uninstalling it and going back to ver 5. I have read this helps a good deal of people w/AOL trouble. jimi_l

Reply: (edit)G... give your computer specs... when did the problem started... was windows ME factory installed or upgrade?....how are you connected to internet phone? cable? dsl?.... if phone check the keyword "step5" on AOL even if the step5 would apply, still your computer should not freeze so that you have to reboot it... check your device manager for any conflicts.... are getting any error messages? if yes describe... what apps you see running when you pres ctrlaltdel?... what is your reported download speed? (try a bigger file about 100k or more)- the freeze could be caused by phone line(cable/dsl) do you have any problems with the computer when you are not on line?.... try to call aol tech support or try the AOL interactive on line tech support... before you erase or switch to different version of AOL back up your aol -favorite places -downloads -filing cabinet based on your sketchy problem description i would suspect more that your OS is not working properly instead of blaming first the AOL Regards Miro
