I have windows Me installed in my system. I want to get rid of the annoying logon screen that asks for the user name and password. I have tried to go to the password option in the contol panel and leave the new password blank, but nothing happened.
search for *.pwl and rename them to .old reboot and leave password field blank hit ok this will remove all your passwords you will have to re-enter dial-up networking password.

Go to control panel -> network -> check if the primary network logon is set to windows-logon. If yes, when you boot, just enter your name and press OK. Normally you won't be asked again until you log off in the startmenu. JOhan
can you tell me what exactly changing the primary network to windows-logon does and what it has changed. Thanks

I'm not an expert in this, but if you have a NIC (network interface card), then the network loogon is used to log on to the network. I am connected to the network of my university, but I don't need the network logon. I think it depends on the sort of networkconnection. JOhan
