HELP!!! I keep getting this error when I am online. Everytime I access a different site, or every web page now, this message pops up. I don't know if it has something to do with the security settings, but I have reset everything to default and they still appear. Until a few days ago, it was only when I booted up, now it's constant.

Does it have something to do with security settings? Have you ever altered these settings? You state this problem is when ever your online. what do you mean by "it was only when you booted up"? are you a highspeed/always on user cable/dsl? From site to site this problem occurs? have you been able to access any sites at all or simply continue to get the access is denied message for every attempt? Are you behind a firewall that someone might have created a rule for a particular site/sites? Is this a home problem or at work? Any other info in the error message? Are you a parent who is using one of the internet filtering programs or are we talking about IExplorer security settings?

Does it have something to do with security settings? Probably.

Have you ever altered these settings? In the internet options.

You state this problem is when ever your online. what do you mean by "it was only when you booted up"? At first, it only happened when I booted the computer up. And never again. Now its only when online, going from site to site and page to page.

are you a highspeed/always on user cable/dsl? Dial up server.

From site to site this problem occurs? Yes

have you been able to access any sites at all or simply continue to get the access is denied message for every attempt? I can access everything, but this message always appears.

Are you behind a firewall that someone might have created a rule for a particular site/sites? do I check this out! I haven't got the foggiest.

Is this a home problem or at work? Home, although I use this for work mostly.

Any other info in the error message? Just what I said. If you click on the info thing, nothing happens.

Are you a parent who is using one of the internet filtering programs or are we talking about IExplorer security settings? I am not using any filtering programs.

So these access is denied error messages are meaningless? You can still access the pages but the warning is annoying? Maybe a buggy Ieexplorer. Or possibly some setting thats checked in the security tab of internet options/cutom level. Is this a new PC? Has this problem been happening ever since purchase or upgrading or after knowingly or unknowingly making changes to the security settings? Have you tried searching the manufacturers site for known errors/patches/updates for this particular product? If you cant find anything on the PC makers site ie. www.hp.com or www.compaq.com etc. I would give Microsoft tech support a call they can usually talk you thru correcting user error(accidently clicking something)issues. And if it is just a matter of a simple setting it shouldnt take too long.
Firewall! If you didnt put one on this PC chances are it doesnt have one. http://www.zonealarm.com <---This a a freeware firewall.
http://www.zdnet.com/downloads/stories/info/0,,0010V7,.html <---this link is to zdnet download of a freeware antivirus "inoculate it" if it doesnt work do a search for the title at zdnet.
Once you have corrected this problem with the error messages this utility along with an antivirus program is all the security the typical home user will ever need in my opinion. it takes the guess work out of what needs to be checked or unchecked etc. I have had the same PC with the same dial up account for 3 years and i have never had a security problem other than the occasional probe.
Disclaimer:i do not use inoculateit antivirus. I have read several positive reviews about it, its downloadable and its free. I use norton antivirus.
Hope this helps
