Digital cameras are notorious for this. I would uninstall the drivers, everything and start over. There may or may not be a driver conflict. I have a SHARP camera that gave me fits. Its still a bit buggy and hangs my machine up from time to time. I got it working well then purchased a USB printer and it started the horror all over again. i will bet you get it to work.

Does the camera have a "hard disk mode"?
We have a HP camera and I don't like installing a lot of buggy software (very cautious these days since a couple of bad experiences, now everything is great and has been for many months). This HP camera has a hard disk mode, all I have to do is plug it in, power it up and it is detected as a removable drive. I just drag and drop (select all) my files to a folder and subfolders on my real hard drive.
Works great and no buggy software!
Software is being written more and more for XP and less and less for 9x, including ME, that's what I think anyway.
