i have posted this message before and im doing it again to see if anyone that knows what to do can help
Ok, here is the problem. I open a game like the sims, and it plays for 5 min and then just quits and goes back to the desktop and acks like it quits by itself. It also does this with 3 other games, quake 3, Grand Prix Racing, the sims... I can play on the computer doing other stuff for ever and not do anything, just happens when i run games. It didn't always do this, this started about a week ago. I have a HP (P.O.S.) 800mhz, 64mb ram(lol 64, i know), some cheap 3d card(Integrated Intel® Direct AGP 3D graphics), win ME. Oh by the way i figure someone might say reinstall OS, well the **** thing didn't come with a ****ing cd. But it does have a system restore disk, but i really don't want to do that(have a LOT of mp3's that i don't want to lose and other stuff!!!)by the way i have updated my video card drivers and directx
I also e-mailed HP and The Sims people and the don't care nor even know what to do.LOL

Have you tried this patch for the game?

It seems the sims is a buggy sob and im sure there MUST be even newer ones.

error messages? missing dll's? current version of directX? call up one of the games tech support lines and start troubleshooting.
Ive had plenty of problems with games but ive never been playing one and it just went away without any locking up or error messages.

no error mess., updated video drivers(all of them),called HP, and the sims people, no answers, did everthing yall said. no progs running in background, everything. i have updated to directx8.0a, almost nothin works

If I am you..I will try all I could think of...but can't post here..cuz they may think I am crazy! hehee..sorry..buy a new hardisk..and back up ur data then format and reinstall your comp is the best way!
