Please note: In order to help you best it is necessary that you post a detailed description of your problem along with your system credentials and exactly what version of the Operating System you are running. Also please post any other information that you feel may be important such as utility programs that you have running

I'm pretty sure what Ed meens is you have given "0" information for anyone to really help you.
but try this: go into Display Properties and see if your at 16 or 256 color..if so change to 16bit color. Update your display drivers and DirectX.

To find your video display information and to check your settings, close or mimimize all of your programs, put your cursor in a blank area of the desktop and push the right mouse button (right click). A menu will appear. Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu. The "Display Properties" window will appear. Towards the top of the window you will see several tabs, one of these should say "Settings". Click on that tab. On the left side of the window, you should see the heading "Colors" and a scroll list. What does that list say? On the right side of the window, it should say something like "Screen Area" "Less and More" what are the numbers under the slider? These numbers indicate your current screen resolution. Now click on the button at the bottom of the window that says "Advanced...". Another window will appear. Towards the top of the window you will see more tabs. One of these should say "Adapter" click on that one. Write down everything you see. This is your video adapter card specs. After you have written down the specs, click the "Cancel" button to exit both windows. Type the video adapter specs, the screen resolution and the color settings and post them here. Good luck.

Tammy,
Bad news:(
What you have there is an integrated video controller, which means that it's part of your motherboard and not a separate card. The advantage of an integrated controller is that they are inexpensive. The main disadvantage is that they are cheap. An integrated controller shares system memory (1 or 2MB) where a separate card may have much more than that (mine has 32MB) and a separate processor just for doing 2D and 3D video calculations. Integrated controllers work alright for most applications, but are weak for games. If you play a lot of games, you may want to consider getting a separate video card with at least 16MB of video memory. Get a professional to do this installation. It is a difficult process for a beginner because you would have to disable the onboard video first, and some do not allow this to be done. Also, the type of expansion slot available will determine the type of card to be installed (1x, 2x or 4x AGP if available, PCI if not. More than likely the only type available with a motherboard with an integrated video controller is the PCI). In the meantime, you could try upgrading your video drivers, DirectX, etc. Sorry. Maybe someone else has a better suggestion for you to try.
