I have a Dell using Windows ME with 20 GB's. I have some Adobie programs but not too much else. Yet under my computer it says that I only have 1.44 GB's left. Can anyone tell me how to clean up my computer. I feel that there is a lot of old junk in there and I don't know how to get rid of it.

Go to Start> Programs> Accessories> System Tools> Disk Cleanup. This will get rid of some unnecessary junk.

After you run Disk Cleanup, go to Start> Settings> Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs.
Remove any programs that you dont want or use.

After that, browse through your file system and delete any audio, video, or picture files that you don't want. This should free up some space:)

(The primary purpose of DELINDEX is to delete Index.dat files which are never resized, and only get bigger. They contain all your web surfing history since they were (re)created, and large index.dat files can cause performance issues with browsing. Index.dat files cannot be deleted if Explorer is running. The secondary purpose is to delete junk files, for reasons of space, privacy, and performance. DELTA.BAT deletes index.dat files everytime you start or reboot your computer.)

Get Delindex here: http://www.burzurq.com/forum/delindex.html

Why not try a scandisk to see if your fat is being read improperly?
