Hi,

I have a machine running windows xp pro. the machine specifications are: Intel Celeron 2GHz, 512MB DDR, 40GB Maxtor, ATI Radeon 9600XT.

I am undecided at the moment. I have been running windows xp for a while now but i am not completely satisfied. I want to know would i be better off installing windows me on my system or staying with windows xp? how safe is windows me? how many people use windows me? would my system be faster running windows me? the main use for my system is browsing internet, playing games such as black hawk down, delta force extreme, counterstrike source, quake 3 etc., browsing internet and doing college work. i want peoples opinions if i should stay with xp or cange to me. i have used me before on a old 800mhz pc so i am fimiliar with the interface.

all ur comments will be appreciated.

Stay with XP. Right or wrong that is the future and to do a backstep is never a good idea especially in IT.

About the user interface XP can be configured to show the classic Windows interface.

The key point however is XP kernel, as it is based on NT operating systems family and has never to do with DOS that is emulated under XP.

IMO XP is the best reliable system ever released by Microsoft and despite some frustration it is worth to run.

when u use ME, u'r system runs a bit faster. But XP is more stable, secure and futuristic.

no need for ME for u'r system.

if u want it for experimentation, just have it with dual boot option with XP.

Hi,
The one interesting point about ME, it was only around for a short time, the hackers has not paid much attention to the os, consequently, it is safer than xp from attack. In terms of stability, if it is less prone to crashing, the percentage is not the much higher as compared to ME. The file system is different from ME and probably is the future. I have 2 computers, one with xp and the other me, I like the flexibility of having the dos, which I feel gives me more control of the os. Just my 2 cents, for what it's worth,
frank

I have an XP system and a Windows ME system. I must say I do like ME better. It is faster, and it never crashes. Some people say they have problems, but I think it is because of incorrect hardware. I do prefer WinME over XP
