Hi

Have got a system very low on hhd space and crashing subsequently.

Most of the programs installed are essential.

However I have noticed a large amount of space used in the windows file. Anyway of cleaning this up?

Also running norton updates is saturating an already bloated hhd.

I am unable to consider upgrading. Any ideas?

floppytop, is a second HDD set as a slave and used for storage a possibility? What about putting some of your treasures on CD or DVD?

You cud first do a disk cleanup, remove all the unwanted stuff like temp internet files etc, and see if theres enough space for a defrag atleast. Then run some good third party defragmenting tool. May be the HD is excessively fragmented.Try it. Gud Luck.

Download a copy of Treesize from JAMsoftware,
http://www.jam-software.com/treesize/

It will help you see where your disc space has gone to.
