I enjoy pandora.com radio. You can type in an artist or song then it plays nothing but that type of music, however, after about 20 minutes it stops playing with some short intermitant stops before that time. I get a message saying this--- A script in the movie is causing Adobe Flash Player 9 to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?---(this is radio, not a movie) What could be the problem? Not enough memory or other such thing being this desktop is from about the year 2000? Thank you.

^ That's your explanation.

...and with that machine it'll be a combination of everything including CPU / memory.

Depending on what version you have, you could try the latest flash player....

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/down...

The system specs for it say you are pushing your luck...

If you wanted to do this you could do with using the Adobe flash player uninstaller...

But read the instructions first...

When I try to install the latest version of the flash player I get a message that they can't find a Web player that matches my platform and browser. When I look at the system requirements my Windows ME and the cpu speed are O.K The only requirement I don't have is the 128 MB RAM. I only have 64 MB. Could that be the reason? However in my add]remove program list adobe flash player activeX and adobe player plug in are listed. Doesn't that mean I have a flash player? (if so how would I find which version I have, its not listed in my Programs list) Also why do you suggest possibly uninstalling it? That would mean I definitely wouldn't have a player wouldn't it. What if I couldn't download one because I might still get the message that they can't find a matching Web player. Thank you.

That's how I read it for ME. And it does clearly state that.

"The only requirement I don't have is the 128 MB RAM. I only have 64 MB. Could that be the reason?"

Not necessarily, you would get a different error message - a memory related one.

"However in my add / remove program list adobe flash player activeX and adobe player plug in are listed. Doesn't that mean I have a flash player?"

Yes it does, what version does it list??

"Also why do you suggest possibly uninstalling it?"

Because that's how you upgrade things cleanly (using the adobe uninstaller in this case - and from safe mode usually)

"That would mean I definitely wouldn't have a player wouldn't it. What if I couldn't download one because I might still get the message.."

They have older versions of flash player available for testing and development purposes, you would install one of those - which is why I asked what version it lists in add and remove programs.

...and if you look what I put, and the tone in which I said it, you will see me using the words...

""you could TRY the latest flash player..." "

and

""If you wanted to do this you could do with using the Adobe flash player uninstaller..."

But to be honest all that's academic if the flash player installer won't install. So you'll have to stay where you are by the looks of it.

And for some reason the free flash player archive isn't up at the moment, so I definitely would stay where you are.

It was up the other week because I browsed through it. Who knows if Adobe will put it back up.

Should I just try to uninstall what I have using the add\remove function. Maybe I have an uninstaller already and don't know it. Also , to find out which version I have (since the version is not mentioned in the add\remove list)do I do the first step of the add \remove process? Maybe it will show me there. Also I do have adobe shockwave player 11 and adobe acrobat reader 5. Does that tell you what version of flash player I have?

^ Check those two out for your version. See if they both match up.

As it stands if you uninstall using Add / Remove programs you will be without a flash player as you have no direct replacement yet.

That said, as soon as you uninstall it it could well detect you have no version and offer you the latest.

See what version you have first.

Thanks . they both match up. They state I have version 9.0.124.0 which I think is the latest.I'm going to try Pandora again and if it stops I will restart it and see if it stops again. I think with my VLC media player sometimes I have to restart it once for it to continue.
