Bill,

What exactly do you want to do? Add programs (software to your computer) or format your drive and install an Operating System?

To Add programs, all you need to do is either insert the software installation CD, and it'll auto-run. Then just install the software.

To format your drive is easy, but the steps are different (and in some cases much easier) depending on which OS you want to install.

Can you be a little more specific as to what exatly it is you want to do?

And, I don't believe jboy's answer was rude OR inappropriate considering...

I'm so confused. According to your FIRST post, you've already reformatted and reinstalled the OS.

And, you do seem to ask a LOT of questions without even attempting to locate the answers first.

In your #2 you said "format c: is no good"

I can assure you that format c: is very good indeed. If you mean that it didn't work then presumably there was some sort of error message - this would help us. If nothing happened at all then we need to know this, and also just where you were when you typed it.

Whatever, the first steps towards format are to power off, insert the floppy then power on. Select start with CD-ROM support. Is this what you have done?

Hey There.
I have a similar query i that i also need to format my hard-drive.
I am currently running Me, but need to format my drive and install 2000.
Can anyone help?
I have tried installing 2000, and letting it format the drive, but this doesnt work properly.
I have downloaded gwscan to 'zero' the hard-drive, but cant get to DOS to run it.

This post is over a month old. Any minute now it will become "read only". Very few people will revisit this post now.

What you need to do is go to the top left of this page and select the most appropriate OS (probably W2000 from what you say) and start a new post.

That way you will get direct help with your own particular problem (no two problems are quite alike anyway).
