Comment: I bought an older computer from a friend and I want to format the hard drive and install win 98 on it. But I can't fiqure out how to get to the ms dos promt. Win ME does not have an option to restart in Dos Mode? Can anyone help me out. Sean

Reply: (edit)Have you tried using a boot disk? You may have to adjust BIOS setting to boot from floppy. If there is nothing valueable on the drive I would boot from a win98 boot disk and format the drive to wipe out ME.

Reply: (edit)You dont need winzip to unzip compressed files. Windows 98se has a built in unzipping utility called compressed folders it can be installed via add and remove programs.
