Hi,
I am about to format an HP computer. My question is... I have heard HP seems to give people a hard time after formatting the HD. I will be using the F-Disk tool and than installing ME. Is there anything special I need to know before I attempt this? I have formatted and re-installed many O/S, mostly clones and Compaq's. Any tips greatly appreciated!

If your computer has an Intel motherboard, you need the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility Version 5.0.Look at the list of models and decide if this applies to your computer. If you don't know the model use AIDA 32 program to find it once the Windows setup is completed. After Win ME is installed you setup this program, reboot the computer and redetect all the hardware. http://developer.intel.com/design/software/drivers/platform/inf.htm From the HP website you can get specific drivers for sound, modem and keyboard that are not easily found otherwise.Good luck.
