My computer is driving me up the wall and I can seem to find no answers to help me!!

Basically my computer wont install new fonts. I go to control panels and to FONTS and click on install new fonts. Usually it wont recognise the fonts as being there even tho I have downloaded them and they ARE True-Type fonts and when it does recognise them I click on them, click OK (to install) and it just flicks and does nothing!!

Then I try dragging the fonts into the fonts folder and NOTHING!! It wont go in the folder or install!!!!!!!!!

It's driving me crazy!!

It just wont install at all!!!!!

Please please can someone help?????

In case you did not read the MS KB article:
* All font files are registered under a single key in the registry, and a registry key cannot exceed 64 KB in Windows 95. If font names average 20 characters in length and font file names average 10 characters in length, the maximum number of TrueType fonts you can install falls between 1000 and 1500.
* If a TrueType font file is located in a folder other than the Fonts or the System folder, the full path to the font is included in the registry, using up more space in the key and reducing the number of fonts you can install.
* The GDI contains an internal list of fonts, with 10 KB reserved for font file names. If font file names average 10 characters in length, THE MAXIMUM NUMBER OF TRUETYPE FONTS YOU CAN INSTALL IS APPROXIMATELY 1000.
* Note that the Windows 95 Resource Kit incorrectly states that there is no limit to the number of TrueType fonts you can install in Windows 95 and Windows 98.

Since you are over 1000, that MAY be why you have trouble.

I'd boot up in DOS, and move unused fonts to a NEW folder (NOT in c:\windows\fonts\) and see if that solves your problem.

You probably can't move the fonts with Windows running because the fonts "may be in use."
