Reply: likely is bad if it can't read any disk, they are cheap to replace the drive BUT also replace the cable

Reply: A bit of logical troubleshooting will narrow the problem down: 1) Can you read these disks in another pc? 2) Does changing the floppy drive in your pc work? 3) Is the data in a format that WinME cannot see (NTFS, Mac, etc)? Hope this helps,
Mark

Reply: Hi there, When someone finds a solution for this problem, I'd love to know! I've had the same problem on my "old" system...The floppies are just not being read, and can also not be used to enter DOS... I've already replaced the unit, and the cable, to no avail. Now I've just built and installed a new system, which has the same problem. The floppies run fine on my laptop, bootable floppies boot just fine. What could this be? Windows says all's ok (system->floppycontroller), BIOS settings are just fine...What is this? Robin
