Hi... hope somebody out there can help cuz this is driving me nuts. I have a new Acer laptop running ME. Practically everything I do causes the floppy drive to attempt to access for approx 2 seconds. This includes opening control panel / accessing certain web pages. It isnt the virus checker ... my first thought... I uninstalled it. Please Help!!!!

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Note: The value of the NoDriveTypeAutoRun entry should be 95 00 00 00, if it is not, continue to step 3.
3. Double click NoDriveTypeAutoRun.
4. Change the Binary Value to 95 00 00 00.
5. Click OK.
6. Close Registry Editor.
7. Restart the computer for the changes to take affect.

Hi,

I have those settings and I tried resetting them. I still have the same problem as Listy. Does anyone have any other ideas?
