thanks for the responses to my CD and FIFO problems. You all helped.Removing and allowing windows to find my CD worked.Unfortunately i already sent my burner out for repair(ouch).My dual fifo ide controller problem was resolved by going into device manager, hard disk controller, properties, settings, and changing from default, to enable both channels. hwinfo.exe now reports no errors! By the way, to get this nifty utility to work type in hwinfo /ui in the run box. It doesnt work by clicking on it in windows folder. Thanks again, Brian
