I have been doing some searching on here for awhile and all I can come up with is old info. about which firewalls are the best free ones to use now that Zone alarm no longer supports ME. I don't want packages that also have anti virus and other crap. just a firewall. Does anyone have any ideas what is a good all around, non bothersome firewall that is compatible with ME? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Mitch

My first suggestion would be an older version of ZoneAlarm. You can still find them unfortunatly I don't use a firewall so I don't know the version number your specifalclly looking for. Updates are still given to older versions of software. I still use Norton System works 2001 on an old 98Machine and I can still get the latest definitions.

wow! Thanks so much for the info. What a great idea to just get an older version of Zonealarm. I found a great site that has Older versions of software that people may be interested in. Here's the link. And it has multiple versions.

Get ZA 5.5.094 works flawlessly with ME , i have never upgraded , don't see the need , takes little resources and works fine , passes all the tests over at gibson research for open ports etc.....
