Comment:

Is it better to have some type of firewall, such as Zone Alarm if you are only using dial-up access to the internet, and your computer is the only one in your home?
Thanks

Yes, get Zonealarm from www.zonelabs.com
I would not dare go on the net without it. It has saved my bacon a few times.
As an example, it has reported so far to day there have been 18 attempts at gaining information from my computer by another computer. These may or may not be hackers, but it matters not cos' Zonealarm blocks them.

Questions like these should be placed in the computing.net Security and Virus forum.
