I am trying to access a file sharing program but I keep getting a response that I have a firewall. I have Webroot Spysweeper, but that would be the only firewall that I have if that even is one. How do I find out if I have a firewall and how do I disable it?

You would probably *know* if you have a software firewall installed. If instead, you are connected to a router, that would be a hardware firewall.

Be a good idea to read the documentation or FAQ for the particular filesharing program you're attempting to use (whatever that may be)

Here's one - the culprit may be your ISP

I do have a router but I have never had any problems with it. The file sharing program is Limewire. Is there anywhere on my comp. that I can locate the firewall and disable it so that I can determing if that is the problem?

Configuring routers is a bit beyond my experience - but Google can be your best friend

With filesharing through a router you usually have to specifically allow access to the relevant port through the setup screen for your router. You'll need to do a bit of research on your fs program to find out which port needs to be accessed & then read the manual for your router to access the setup page - it's usually accessed through your browser by inputting the address as 192.168.1.1 or similar - you'll then be asked for a password as well.
