Is there a place I can locate the model number of my Modem without having to take my pc apart? Any help is appreciated!!!!

Maybe u can use driver detective.
maybe i dont know it tells you river information and alot more.....Dan

If you have an off the shelf system post the model here and someone may know what modem it comes with.

If the PC is running Windows 9X or ME etc , use the system properties and look under modem where a description of the hardware is found.

It is a Conexant Soft56 Data, Fax, PCI Modem. And it came in a HP XL753 Pavilion. I looked under under system properties and this is what it said I have. But I can not find the model number on it? I have even emailed the conexant support. So far, no reply. THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL, SYSTEM, then in system properties, click on the DEVICE MANAGER tab, click on the plus sign to the left of the MODEM and your modem will be listed........or you can START, SETTINGS, CONTROL PANEL, ACCESSORIES, SYSTEM TOOLS, SYSTEM INFORMATION, look under hardware. I am giving this information for Windows Me .
